size? celebrates International Women’s Month with Babes on Waves

In honour of International Women’s Month, we’re excited to be partnering up once again with Babes on Waves to host the Making Waves event, showcasing a WOC Makers Market to empower and salute underrepresented women of colour in the creative industry. 

Taking place on 24.03 from 5:30-11 pm, the Babes on Waves and size? Making Waves event will take over Dalston Roof Park – an urban oasis nestled in Hackey with views of East London’s skyline. You can expect a WOC Makers Market, a live size?sessions set with DJ Talia A. Darling, plus a Martial Arts Showcase, Tooth Gems and plenty more, for you to get involved with whilst meeting like-minded people along the way. Entry is £3 with all proceeds going to Sistah Space, a charity that supports women and children of African and Caribbean heritage affected by domestic abuse.

MISEMI @designsbymisemi is an ethical streetwear clothing label that specialises in sublimation printed pieces, and upcycled and reworked pre-loved garments. With a focus on culture, diversity, self-care, and being unapologetically yourself, MISEMI aims to ‘create conversations with clothing’ for those who love bold, bright, and unique apparel with a streetwear influence. 

LIL’ WONG BAKES

Featured in Time Out London and the Evening Standard, @lilwongbakes is an independent micro bakery based in Dalston that’s inspired by Chinese Heritage. You can expect inventive flavour combos, swiss meringue buttercream and Pandan Sandos filled with the sweetest cream from Sam.

MELT JEWELLERY

Prachi Jain founder of @meltjewellery – a new-age jewellery brand – draws inspiration from the process of making jewellery and the organic form of melting silver. With a clean, clinical & futuristic edge, the two opposite qualities of metal are combined to create a product that encapsulates a satisfying sensation of melting objects.

Nyla from @blingedsmile enjoys the practice of tooth gems bringing back a trend that originated in the ’90s and 2000s. These unisex tooth gems are lead-free and made from top-quality Swarovski 18k gold to upgrade your smile. 

BY.WUZZY

BY.WUZZY is a denim brand focused on reworking vintage Levi’s to create bespoke apparel and accessories. Founder Wuzzy Omiyale started the label @by.wuzzy in 2020 during the pandemic and is a Fashion Design graduate from the London College of Fashion.

With its handmade, crocheted pieces and accessories, London-based mooshi’s designer and creative producer brings colourful, fun and unique accessories to the table.

As well as all this and even more makers, you can expect performances from the BUGEISHA CLUB – a tribe of creative athletes, multi-genre live DJs plus LATYA’s ART will be on hand for all your sneaker and accessories customisation needs – it’s an event not to be missed.
