Cristiano Ronaldo named on the Man United bench AGAIN as Erik ten Hag decides against starting him in derby showdown with Man City… as Dutch coach picks the same line-up from the win over Arsenal
- Ronaldo missed out on the Man United starting line-up to play Manchester City
- 37-year-old is named among the substitutes for the derby at the Etihad Stadium
- He has only started one Premier League fixture so far under Erik ten Hag
- United boss chose the same starting line-up that beat Arsenal 3-1 last month
Cristiano Ronaldo has once again been named amongst the Manchester United substitutes as they take on Manchester City in Sunday afternoon’s derby at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese star, 37, has still only started one Premier League match since Erik ten Hag came in as United manager in the summer.
Ten Hag named the same starting line-up from the 3-1 win over Arsenal in United’s last league fixture.

Ronaldo started the 4-0 defeat at Brentford but has come off the bench in each of United’s five other Premier League games after Ten Hag dropped him.
He scored his first goal of the season in United’s last outing, the 2-0 UEFA Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova on September 15.
But that has not been enough to convince Ten Hag to start him in one of United’s biggest fixtures of the season.
United’s last two Premier League matches – away to Crystal Palace on September 11 and at home to Leeds United a week later – were postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ronaldo endured a frustrating night on Tuesday as Portugal missed out on the finals of the UEFA Nations League by losing 1-0 at home to Spain.
Ten Hag opted for consistency of selection as he named the same side that beat league leaders Arsenal back on September 4.
Instead of Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford begins up front at the Etihad Stadium, with Bruno Fernandes as the No 10 and Jadon Sancho and Antony either side.
Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen play at the base of midfield with a back line of Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.
Ronaldo was joined on the bench by summer signing Casemiro.
