Over the past two years, Jumpman has enacted a centralized effort toward providing some due shine to Jordan’s second signature silhouette. From the return of OG color blockings to drumming up unique inline takes, the Air Jordan 2 Low’s retelling of His Airness journey from Chapel Hill to the Windy City releases tomorrow.
Having been privy to its composition since last summer, the latest take on the famed “UNC To CHI” scheme maintains its sleek ’87 look while enacting a lightened ensemble thanks to the flat leather base layer’s choice of crisp white dominance. While the color wheel is employed in seldom, the reserved placement sets the stage for a clean everyday option as “Gym Red” hues line the mid-foot overlay and winged insignia affixed to the tongue. In contrast, a “Dark Powder Blue” fills the ridged heel counter before adjacently attributing the tread of the heel. Concentrating the latter two shades within its insoles and throughout the tread, an aged “Sail”-treated midsole provides a vintage finish underfoot.
